Orque Innovations LLP

App & Software Development for Startups in Kerala

Turn an idea into a first version people actually use: the smallest product that does the core job, built properly, so it can grow instead of being rebuilt.

Orque Innovations LLP designs, builds and maintains first versions of products — mobile apps, web apps and the backend behind them — from Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum), Kerala.

Who it is for

  • A founder with a problem worth solving and no engineering team yet
  • A no-code tool or spreadsheet prototype that has started to strain
  • An idea that needs a mobile app, a web app or both, with a backend behind them
  • A product that has to be shown working to customers or partners, not described in slides

What it avoids

  • Building everything at once and running out of budget before launch
  • A first version that has to be thrown away before it can grow
  • Separate people for design, app and backend who never quite talk to each other
  • No one left to maintain the product once it is live

What you get

Product scoping
The smallest version that does the core job, written down: who it is for, what it does on day one, and what waits.
Design
Screens and flows designed for a phone first and clicked through as a prototype before any code is written.
Mobile and web apps
iOS, Android, cross-platform or web: whichever reaches your first users soonest, without closing off the others.
Backend and data
Accounts, data and integrations built alongside the app, so the first version can grow rather than be rebuilt.
AI, where it earns its place
Language models, document AI or prediction added for a specific job, with a person checking what matters.
Launch and upkeep
Store release, hosting, and the updates and fixes that keep a product alive after launch.

How a first version gets scoped

A minimum viable product is the smallest version that does the core job for real users. Not a demo and not a prototype: something people use for the thing you built it for. Everything else waits until real use shows it is needed.

That is the cheapest form of risk control a young company has. A wrong assumption discovered in week four costs one increment; discovered after a year of building, it costs the company.

  • Build the workflow that hurts most; defer the ones that are merely inconvenient
  • Start on one platform — often the web — and add native apps once they are clearly needed
  • Keep low-volume steps manual behind the scenes, and automate them when volume justifies it
  • Design the data model properly from the start: it is the part that is hardest to change later

Building an MVP with a software development company

Yes, and for a founder without an engineering team it is often the soundest route: a software company brings design, app, backend and testing together from the first week, and can keep the product running after launch. It fits best when the first version needs several of those skills at once and you want one team accountable for all of it. It fits less well when the product is your core technology and you are ready to hire engineers to build it from day one.

A software company
You need design, app and backend built, released and kept running by one accountable team. Watch for: Who actually does the work, and the terms after launch.
A freelancer
A small, well-defined piece of work. Watch for: Gaps in backend and testing, and continuity if they become unavailable.
Your own team
The product is your core technology and you can hire now. Watch for: Hiring time, and needing design, app, backend and testing skills at once.
A no-code tool
Testing demand before building anything. Watch for: Limits on data, integrations and growth, and the cost of moving off it later.

What an MVP build includes

  1. Discovery and scope: The problem, the first users and the one workflow that matters, written down with what waits.
  2. UX and UI design: Screens and flows designed for a phone first, clicked through as a prototype before any code.
  3. Development: The app or web app your first users actually touch.
  4. Backend, API and database: Accounts, data and the integrations the product needs, structured so it can grow.
  5. Testing: On real phones and browsers, and with the people the product is for.
  6. Deployment: Hosting, store release where there is an app, and monitoring from the first day.
  7. Iteration after launch: Fixes, measurement and the next increment, decided by what real users do.

From you, the build needs a person who can make decisions every week, access to a few first users for testing, your own accounts — the domain, hosting and app-store developer accounts — in your company’s name, and any content or data the product starts with.

Cost and timeline follow the scope: how many kinds of user, how many workflows, web, mobile or both, and what the product must connect to. A narrow first version, scoped in writing before it is priced, keeps both down.

Why Orque for a first product

  • We are a startup ourselves: Orque Innovations LLP is recognised by Kerala Startup Mission and Startup India, and builds on AWS Startups, MongoDB for Startups and IBM for Startups.
  • We have taken our own products into use: Orque ERP runs day-to-day operations for businesses in the UAE and Qatar, and Orque CRM is live. Getting a product used, and keeping it running, is our own work too.
  • One team from scope to support: Design, app, backend and maintenance in one engagement, so nothing is lost between the people who designed it and the people who keep it running.
  • A written scope before a price: No single-figure quotes. First what will be built and in what order, then a price and a date worth relying on.

What happens when you get in touch

  1. Tell us what you need: Use the form, WhatsApp or a phone call. A few sentences about the problem and who will use the software is enough to start.
  2. A first conversation: We reply with our honest view of the work and the questions we need answered. Talk by phone, or meet us at the office in Kamaleshwaram, Thiruvananthapuram.
  3. A written scope: What will be built, for whom and in what order, in writing. Then a price and a date worth relying on.
  4. Built in small increments: Working pieces you can test as they land, then a proper handover, with maintenance planned from the start.

Questions founders ask

How much does it cost to build an MVP?
It follows the scope rather than a rate card: how many kinds of user it has, how many workflows it supports, whether it needs a mobile app, a web app or both, and what it has to connect to. The cheapest reliable route is a narrow first version, scoped in writing before it is priced. Our guide to custom software costs in India sets out what moves the number.
Should a startup build a mobile app or a web app first?
Usually the web, unless the product depends on the phone itself — the camera, location, notifications or offline use. A web app reaches every device from one codebase and changes without store review, which matters while the product is still being shaped. Native or cross-platform apps follow once the core is proven.
Can an existing prototype be built on rather than replaced?
Often, yes. The first step is a look at the code, the data and how it is hosted, to see what can be extended safely and what needs rebuilding. Extending what works is usually cheaper than starting again.
What should we bring to a first conversation?
The problem in your own words, who the first users are, what the product must do on day one, and any date that genuinely matters. A budget range, if you have one, lets us propose the scope that fits it instead of quoting for everything.
Do you work with startups outside Kerala?
Yes. We work from Thiruvananthapuram with organisations across India, the UAE, Qatar and Malaysia. Meet us at the office, or talk by phone.
